Final Exercise!

I learned a lot through this program..  I’ve seen the initials RSS so many times but never understood or gave it much thought before doing learning 2.0! This was my first exposure to flickr, and I learned of a friend’s flickr account I might not have otherwise. I’ll probably be using Pandora.com quite a bit in the future and the newsfeed stuff though.. This was a positive experiance and I would do something like this again!

Audio Books!

I wasn’t able to find any eAudiobooks available for Alameda County through Netlibrary.. I did browse the ones in Califa though! I had to use a program called Overdrive Media Console in order to download and listen to the eAudiobook I downloaded. It was J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Two Towers and it played nicely!

Podcast!

I liked the Podcast Alley search engine the best so I used that to find the podcasts I put on my bloglines.. The first podcast I tried didn’t work.. So I went to the second one that I had added and that worked fine.. I’m liking podcasts but I haven’t quite find some to match my style and interests yet, but I’m sure I will with a bit more searching!

Youtube

I really like youtube! I use it all the time! There’s a lot of neat stuff on there.. This is the intro to Soul Reaver, one of my favorite games. It’s almost 9 years old now

Web 2.0 tools!

This is a site where you put in an artist or song and they’ll make you a radio station based on that music. It’s pretty cool. Not always accurate but you can give feedback if a song doesn’t fit, if you don’t like it.. or if you like it a lot!

Zoho Writer!

Zoho is really good for people who had documents they would want to share the work on but don’t have access to the same computer.  It’s easier than emailing the documents back and forth atleast! I wouldn’t use it for any work I’m doing alone though.

PB Wiki

I added my blog to the PB Wiki. I tried using the code from the tutorial and it didn’t work so I ended up just doing it in html. Also fixed a couple errors! Aye! Wiki’s are nice!

Library Wiki’s!

I think most of the library information looks better when it’s on a site that isn’t a wiki. I thinkwiki’s are good for programs that librarians or people who use the conference rooms might wanna update frequently though.

Library 2.0

I think it’s nice that the evolution of libraries has been given a name and focus. I’d like to see us get some videogame material to let patrons check out in the future too..

Technorati

There’s so many blogs out there.. It’s overwhelming and confusing.. Technorati does make it easier to find things of interest and tag them to make sorting through them more organized. I’d rather get my information through Bloglines and newsfeeds though. Technorati is something I’d use more just to keep better track of my friend’s blogs. Maybe also the blog of an author or two that I really like.
